Abstract
In the chapter Psychology of learning in adulthood: Cognitive processes and motivation for a foreign language learning authors Olga Mikhailova and Karina Avagyan presents a theoretical analysis of the development of cognitive processes during adulthood and substantiate the didactic direction in the specifics of teaching a foreign language for an adult audience. The authors identified the specific characteristics of the motivation of an adult’s educational activity and the main principles in the construction of technologies for teaching a foreign language.
