Investigations of a family and family education were carried out by the Institute for Educational Research. Investigations were directed towards (a) functioning of a family as a basic and important community where children develop and socialize; (b) functioning of a family under disturbed family conditions, such as education of children in one-parent family (self-supporting mother) and education of children in refugee families who had to leave their homes because of the war and where, in most cases, only mothers stayed with children; (c) role of a family in pro-social orientation and self-concept development of youth. The said objective comprised some conditions essential to contemporary family education so our findings are of manifold value. (1) We obtained a realistic picture of our contemporary family and got insight into the problems it is facing. (2) There is a strong necessity for the family to cooperate with other important institutions (pre-school and school ones as well as wit...h broader and immediate social community). For the ends of this paper, we are presenting basic findings and conclusions resulting from investigating educational role of a family cooperation of a family with pre-school and school institutions, one-parent family, problems of refugee families in a new setting, parental attitudes and treatments.
Rad sadrži prikaz istraživanja iz oblasti porodice i porodičnog vaspitanja sprovedenih u Institutu za pedagoška istraživanja. Prikazana istraživanja kreću se u tri pravca: (a) funkcionisanje porodice kao osnovne i važne zajednice u kojoj se deca razvijaju i socijalizuju; (b) funkcionisanje porodice u poremećenim porodičnim uslovima kao što su vaspitanje dece u porodici samo sa jednim roditeljem (samohrane majke) i vaspitanje dece u izbegličkim porodica-ma koje su usled rata morale da napuste svoje domove i u kojima su u najvećem broju bile samo majke sa decom; (v) uloga porodice u razvoju prosocijalne orijentacije mladih i samopoimanja. Takva orijentacija obuhvatila je neke bitne uslove za vaspitno delovanje savremene porodice, pa nalazi ovih istraživanja imaju višestruku korist: (a) realno upoznavanje naše savremene porodice i problema sa kojima se suočava; (b) sagledavanje neophodne saradnje porodice sa drugim značajnim institucijama (predškolskim i školskim ustanovama, kao i užom i ...širom društvenom zajednicom). Za potrebe ovog rada prikazani su osnovni nalazi i zaključci proučavanja sledećih tema vaspitna uloga porodice, saradnja porodice s predškolskim i školskim ustanovama, nepotpune porodice, problemi izbegličkih porodica u novoj sredini, vaspitni stavovi i postupci roditelja.
