Development of art skills of the pre-school children

Abstract

There has been interest for children's drawings in scientific reference books for long time. Studying children's drawings enabled creating certain theories, and research findings have given much information on different aspects of children's development. In the paper, we have exposed a part of the results of the first phase of longitudinal research about children's literacy. The aim of the research was to examine development of the skills of drawing of pre-school children. Development of skills of drawing has been examined by the 13th subtest Drawing AKADIA of the test of developmental abilities. The sample included pre-school children. Results point at the fact that, although results of the majority of interviewees at the applied sub/test show average and above-average achievement for one or two standard deviations, there is a significant number of interviewees who had achievements for one or two standard deviations. This finding points at the existence of deviations of some of basic abilities, which support the skills of drawing of these interviewees. It implies as well, necessity for determination the type and kind of error at each drawing, and it presents indication that these interviewees must be included into stimulation in the field in which these deviations have been noticed. Findings of this research will subsequently enable s to perceive the influence of the quality of development of this research on the success in initial writing.

U naučnoj literaturi, interesovanja sa teorijskog i istraživačkog aspekta za dečji crtež postoje dugo. Proučavanje dečjeg crteža omogućilo je stvaranje određenih teorija, a istraživački nalazi pružili su obilje informacija o različitim aspektima dečjeg razvoja. U radu je izložen deo rezultata prve faze longitudinalnog istraživanja o razvoju dečje pismenosti. Cilj istraživanja bio je da se ispita razvijenost veštine crtanja dece predškolskog uzrasta. Razvijenost veštine crtanja ispitivana je 13. suptestom Crtanje AKADIA testa razvojnih sposobnosti. Uzorak su činila deca predškolskog uzrasta. Rezultati ukazuju na to da, iako rezultati većine ispitanika na primenjenom suptestu ukazuju na prosečno i iznad prosečno postignuće za jednu ili dve standardne devijacije, nije zanemarljiv broj ispitanika koji su ostvarili postignuće ispod proseka populacije za jednu ili dve standardne devijacije. Ovakav nalaz upućuje na postojanje smetnji u nekim od bazičnih sposobnosti koje podržavaju veštinu crtanja kod ovih ispitanika. Takođe, implicira i neophodnost utvrđivanja tipa i vrste greške na svakom crtežu ponaosob i predstavlja jasnu indikaciju da je ove ispitanike potrebno uključiti na stimulaciju u oblastima u kojima su smetnje uočene. Nalazi ovog istraživanja će nam u perspektivi omogućiti da sagledamo uticaj kvaliteta razvijenosti ove veštine na uspeh u početnom pisanju.
