Apstrakt
The paper elaborates the data obtained in the workshop dealing with talented children and adolescents in Europe, which was organized in Holland in 1991. The workshop brought together over 70 researchers from most European countries, including the author of this paper, who represented Yugoslavia. The chief value of this workshop lies in about 50 reports on educational opportunities for talented children and adolescents, ranging from legal provisions to practical measures, as well as in information on relevant researches conducted in some European countries. Even though the relevant researches have been criticized for the most part, it is evident that researches on talented children and their education in Europe have increased in number, length and scope of research during the 1980s, showing a growing concern for these problems during the early 1990s. From the reports we may conclude that most talented children attend ordinary schools and classes together with other children. The opinion... prevails that things should remain so in the future, too, regardless of all the attempts made and the experience gained in introducing other forms of work with talented children.
