The text analyses the possibilities for identifying giftedness in children and the young and the danger that identifying gifted students may bring in their schools and in other environments. The author's attitude is that the discovering, testing and identifying the gifted necessary and desirable, but still calls for special care when diagnosing (whether the child is gifted or not), forecasting (on the future development of a test child). The search for giftedness as a child's potential to become creative later in life is a meaningful and justified activity in school only if it is part of broad educational treatment of tested students
U tekstu se razmatraju mogućnosti za identifikovanje darovitosti kod dece i mladih i opasnosti koje sobom može da nosi identifikovanje darovitih učenika u njihovom školskom i širem okruženju. Autor smatra da je otkrivanje, ispitivanje i utvrđivanje darovitosti potrebno i poželjno, ali zahteva izuzetnu opreznost prilikom davanja dijagnoze (je li određeno dete darovito ili nije) i prognoze (o budućem razvoju ispitivanog deteta). Traganje za darovitošću kao potencijalu deteta da kasnije u životu postane kreativni stvaralac predstavlja smislenu i opravdanu akciju u školi samo što je ona deo šireg obrazovnog i vaspitnog tretmana ispitivanih učenika.
