The main object of this work is getting an insight into the treatment of gifted children in Great Britain. In the first place is presented some general information on elementary and secondary education, teachers' profession, school regulations, compulsory subjects and the position of the psychologist and pedagogue in school. Further, the author analyses the regulations as regards highly able children, results of research on gifted children and their education and the work of a number of extraschool institutions working with gifted children, their teachers and their parents. The greatest part of the work is devoted to the activities of the National Association for Able Children in Education (NACE) and the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGS).
