The subject of the work is a special educational treatment of gifted students in order to meet their special needs in education within the Yugoslav education system as well as within the system of education in other European countries. The main part of the work is devoted to the result of the analysis of our Law on Secondary Schools, and especially of the grammar school curricula. The author discusses the possibilities the above documents regulate and recommend for work with gifted students and for the work on development of giftedness and talent in pupils. The aim of this work is to inform, therefore it does not include the attitude towards the acceptability of the measures proposed, nor does it analyze the necessary conditions that the measures should be carried out or how they are carried out in practice.
Rad se bavi problemima posebnog obrazovnog tretmana darovitih učenika radi zadovoljavanja njihovih specifičnih obrazovnih potreba u okviru jugoslovenskog obrazovnog sistema i u okviru obrazovnih sistema drugih evropskih zemalja. Glavni deo rada predstavlja rezultat analize našeg Zakona o srednjoj školi i Plana i programa obrazovanja i vaspitanja (za gimnaziju). U tekstu se razmatraju mogućnosti koje navedeni dokumenti propisuju i preporučuju za rad sa darovitim učenicima i rad na razvijanju darovitosti i talenata kod učenika. Cilj ovog rada je informativni, te ne sadrži kritiku o prihvatljivosti predloženih mera, ni razmatranje koji su neophodni propratni uslovi da bi se te mere sprovele i kako se one uopšte realizuju u školskoj praksi.
