Educational aims for gifted students

Abstract

Analysing the educational aims and tasks in our school, stated in legal acts and the research results, the author notes numerous failures, both in defining and realization of the same. In order to find out what gifted students should acquire on the level of secondary school education, the author researches into the problem whether there are significant differences in educational aims that students, parents and teachers set for gifted and other students. On the basis of the results obtained, it is concluded that the gifted students are expected to be more active than the others. Gifted students should learn, develop and experience characteristics which represent the content or the essential conditions for giftedness, so that their schooling can be determined as a preparation for later creative production. On the other hand, the aims concerning social adjustment, tolerance and ability for peace making, are estimated as equally important for all the students.

Analizirajući ciljeve i zadatke vaspitno-obrazovnog rada u našoj školi, u normativnim aktima i rezultate istraživanja, autor uočava mnogobrojne nedostatke kako u definisanju tako i u njihovoj realizaciji. Sa ciljem da utvrdi šta daroviti učenici treba da steknu na nivou srednjeg obrazovanja, autor izvodi istraživanje o tome da li postoje razlike u vaspitno-obrazovnim ciljevima koje učenici, roditelji i nastavnici postavljaju pred darovite i ostale učenike. Na osnovu dobijenih rezultata, zaključeno je da se od darovitih učenika očekuje veće angažovanje u školi. Daroviti učenici treba više od ostalih da doživljavaju, razvijaju i stiču one karakteristike koje predstavljaju sadržaj ili bitne uslove za ispoljavanje darovitosti, tako da se njihovo školovanje može odrediti kao priprema za kasniji stvaralački rad. S druge strane, ciljevi koji se tiču socijalnog prilagođavanja, tolerancije i sposobnosti prevazilaženja konflikata se procenjuju kao jednako važni za sve učenike.
